Framework

The Re-Membering Process™

The Re-Membering Process™ is a nine-movement grief and wellness framework created by Rev. Dr. Jamie Eaddy. It offers individuals and communities a way to attend to grief with honesty, imagination, spiritual depth, and care.

Grief can affect how we understand ourselves, our relationships, our bodies, our faith, and our place in the world. The Re-Membering Process™ creates room to recognize what has been lost, recover what has been silenced or scattered, and imagine how life may be lived from here.

The process does not prescribe a fixed order or timeline. People may return to a movement, remain with it, or encounter several movements at once.

The Nine Movements

01

Recognition

Naming the loss, change, rupture, or grief that requires our attention.

02

Reflection

Listening to what grief reveals about our experiences, needs, relationships, and beliefs.

03

Reconnection

Reconnecting with the body, community, culture, spirit, memory, and sources of care.

04

Rewind

Returning to stories and experiences that may need to be reconsidered, understood differently, or witnessed more fully.

05

Relief

Creating space for rest, support, pleasure, tenderness, and release from the demand to carry everything alone.

06

Release

Loosening our relationship with what can no longer hold, serve, or sustain us.

07

Rediscovery

Encountering parts of ourselves, our histories, and our desires that grief may have obscured.

08

Re-Imagining

Cultivating the imagination necessary to envision new possibilities, relationships, practices, and ways of living.

09

Ritual

Giving grief form through meaningful practices that help individuals and communities remember, honor, express, and transform their relationship with loss.
